My friend Jen Smith (former fashion director of Cookie, who is an idea genius, and happens to follow something like 1000 blogs), just turned me on to this very cool post on Keep it Chic, which lists Joan Didion's packing list. No, there's no child angle here, but there are definitely some good tips.
